Yesterday on Wednesday 12th of March 2025, I was in the elevator of 145 Clarendon Street where I work and saw a staff member from Level 3, Halo Software holding several brand new gold, silver and black permanent markers. Being the awkward weirdo that I am I asked “Arts and crafts time?” and the guy said some “Lando Norris is coming” and I was like “Who?” and he repeated Lando Norris as if I knew who he was. When he realised that I knew absolutely nothing about F1 and the Grand Prix, he explained that he was the favourite to win the Melbourne Grand Prix.
He then got off at his floor and I proceeded to ask the team if they knew who this Lando Norris guy was and it turns out he is a big deal. Some of the team members were excited to catch a glimpse of him, and I must admit he’s a good-looking bloke. We could see Halo Software setting up for a little presentation on their balcony below us.
Sometime after 5 pm, right after everyone else left, he came out and did a little talk. Our building is quite soundproof so I’m not sure what he was talking about or why he was there only that he was gifted some Vegemite, which he wasn’t very excited about, as it turns out that Channel 9 had also offered him some that morning. Being British, he’s probably more of a Marmite guy.
A quick Google Search revealed that Halo Software is a sponsor of McLaren, the team that Lando Norris drives for.
