It was a blustery winter’s day in Melbourne, certainly not the ideal conditions to get out and enjoy some Chapel Street dining, but we were very much looking forward to our Bottomless Brunch experience at Stella Restaurant and Bar in South Yarra nonetheless.

Bottomless Brunch at Stella Restaurant & Bar, South Yarra
At $118 per person, this was certainly one of the higher-end Bottomless Brunches we have ever had the pleasure of partaking in, but in our opinion, the experience was worth the elevated price point.
We had booked the 12:00 pm session at the Italian restaurant in South Yarra, and were surprised to soon realise that – maybe due to it being the earlier session – we had the entire venue to ourselves.

The wait service was, perhaps for this reason, immaculate – we were treated to our first glasses of free-flowing Piper Heidsieck champagne almost as soon as we were seated. This was soon followed by some tempting amuse-bouche, which included tangy Mount Zero olives and Crisps with Macadamia Cream, and thereafter, a mouthwatering appetiser of Porcini Mushroom Arancini.

It must also be added that throughout the relaxed yet steadily-paced service of our food, the drinks service was also decidedly prompt. As well as free-flowing champagne, we were also offered a selection of bottomless spritzes to choose from – which included an Elderflower Spritz, a Limoncello Spritz, and the almost obligatory Italian inclusion of a citrusy Aperol Spritz. My partner and I both enjoyed one of each.

Then, came our favourite dish of all – a tantalizingly cheesy Scallop Mornay that was as delicious as it was aesthetically pleasing. This was promptly followed by delicate Lobster rolls and immaculately presented Beef Carpaccio.

Finally, as if we hadn’t already had enough to eat and drink, we were treated to thin-crusted Prosciutto Pizza, as well as Mushroom Gnocchi (not pictured). We were actually so full that we requested take-home boxes for each of these. We also took home our included dessert of Lemon Meringue Pie, which we enjoyed on the couch later that evening.

Overall, it was a wonderful experience – one we would highly recommend to anyone wanting to partake in a high-end Bottomless Brunch with the inclusion of free-flowing champagne and spritzes, high-quality food and excellent service.
