A new collection of Bluey-themed coins and stamps launched at Australia Post on 2 September 2024, immediately becoming one of the year’s most sought-after collectables. Released by the Royal Australian Mint in partnership with Australia Post, the limited edition collection includes 10 collectable $1 coins, a 10-coin Tube and Folder Set, and a special Stamp Pack.
About the Bluey 1 Dollar Coin
The collection features beloved characters from the show, with one standout coin depicting Bluey and Bingo dressed as ‘Grannies’. Each coin in the set showcases different characters including Bluey, Bingo, and their friends.
There’s an added bonus for collectors purchasing the complete 10-coin Tube and Collectable Folder Set: one in every ten tubes contains a randomly placed special-coloured coin.

The demand has been extraordinary. Australia Post’s website briefly crashed on launch day, and post offices around the country reported long queues before opening. At the South Melbourne Australia Post office, staff reported selling out their entire stock within half an hour. Many locations are attempting to restock, with some posting notices at store entrances about expected restock times.
There’s also a chance you might receive Bluey or Bingo $1 coins as change at participating Australia Post offices during the collection period.

According to the staff from South Melbourne Australia Post office, they sold out Bluey’s new collections within just half an hour and there was a massive line before the store opened on Monday, but they’ve been trying desperately to get more stock in. Meanwhile, some office stores posted notices about Bluey restock time.

Due to high demand and limited availability, Bluey coins have appeared on secondary markets like eBay and Amazon. However, prices are significantly inflated compared to the original retail price.
Current secondary market pricing: Around $70 for the 10-coin tube and folder set (originally $29)
Before purchasing from resellers, consider checking with local Australia Post offices about restock schedules, as this will save you considerable money.
Tips for Collectors
Rather than paying inflated prices on second-hand markets, Bluey fans have better options. Contact your local Australia Post office to enquire about restock times, and keep an eye on your change when shopping at participating post offices through late September.
The coins feature high-quality designs with detailed character artwork, making them worthwhile additions to any Bluey collection or general coin collection.
