Oxford Properties Group and Investa have officially opened Indi Southbank, a 42-storey Build-to-Rent development at 132 Kavanagh Street in Melbourne’s Boyd Village precinct. The new tower brings 434 rental apartments to Southbank, including studios, one and two-bedroom options, with around ten per cent allocated as affordable housing.
The launch marks a major step for Oxford and Investa’s expansion in Australia’s growing Build-to-Rent market. Residents begin moving in from 14 October 2025, with the building expected to accommodate about 800 people once fully leased.
Designed for Modern City Living
Indi Southbank has been designed with lifestyle and community in mind. The development includes a three-level amenities zone featuring a gym, yoga deck, swimming pool, sauna, co-working areas, private dining and function rooms, and even dedicated spaces for pets, including a dog wash and pet run.
At ground level, a publicly accessible green space called Boyd Park has been created, offering a playground, barbecue and picnic facilities, and open areas for events and community gatherings. The complex will also include a new 900 square-metre library operated by the City of Melbourne, set to open in mid-2026.

City of Melbourne Lord Mayor Nicholas Reece welcomed the addition, noting that the city’s rapid growth requires “more homes and a better mix of housing types in the right locations,” adding that Indi Southbank “is going to be a great addition.”
