The demand has been extraordinary. Australia Post’s website briefly crashed on launch day, and post offices around the country reported long queues before opening. At the South Melbourne Australia Post office, staff reported selling out their entire stock within half an hour. Many locations are attempting to restock, with some posting notices at store entrances about expected restock times.

There’s also a chance you might receive Bluey or Bingo $1 coins as change at participating Australia Post offices during the collection period.

According to the staff from South Melbourne Australia Post office, they sold out Bluey’s new collections within just half an hour and there was a massive line before the store opened on Monday, but they’ve been trying desperately to get more stock in. Meanwhile, some office stores posted notices about Bluey restock time.

Due to high demand and limited availability, Bluey coins have appeared on secondary markets like eBay and Amazon. However, prices are significantly inflated compared to the original retail price.

Tips for Collectors

Rather than paying inflated prices on second-hand markets, Bluey fans have better options. Contact your local Australia Post office to enquire about restock times, and keep an eye on your change when shopping at participating post offices through late September.

The coins feature high-quality designs with detailed character artwork, making them worthwhile additions to any Bluey collection or general coin collection.
